Since 1943 Windlass has been the world's leading supplier and manufacturer of military uniforms, knives, officers' sabres, and accessories. Since the 1990s, it has even produced movie replicas and props for many famous Hollywood blockbusters, including the Oscar-winning Gladiator.
Since its inception, Windlass Steelcrafts has held an army contract to produce the legendary Kukri knives used by the British Army Gurkha units. This makes it the world record holder for continuous possession of an original military contract.
Windlass Steelcrafts also owns Atlanta Cutlery Corp., which supplies NCO sabers to the U.S. Marine Corps. It is also now world famous for its production of faithful replicas and combat props for most Hollywood movies and TV shows.
